Since March 2025, people in Gaza have had access to only 3 liters of water per person per day - for drinking, cooking, and hygiene. To put that into perspective, the UN emergency standard is 15 liters. That means families are surviving on just twenty percent of what’s considered the bare minimum. Many spend hours each day just to secure those few liters and are simtulaneously doing irreparable damage to their bodies to carry these liters of water back home - often walking several kilometers with a forty to fifty pound water container. This is challenging to do at any age, but approximately half of our beneficiaries were children. On multiple occasions we had unaccompanied three year olds attend our events with containers, and it was extremely common to see children aged five to ten at our distributions carrying containers far beyond what is safe for their ages. We know that these details are grim but we feel it necessary to highlight the reality of life in Gaza. This reflects a fraction of what Palestinians endure on a daily basis. 

As of mid-July the blockade continues, the summer heat is intensifying, and the demand for water is only growing. For many Palestinians, life revolves around the search for water not because they have a choice, but because survival demands it.

Water is a human right, not a luxury. And yet, for a majority of Gaza's population, it’s still out of reach. That’s where we come in. We are not a convenient option for families, we are often the only option. We’re working to expand our reach with water trucks to serve entire communities who would otherwise go without.

Thanks to your support, we’ve delivered over 600,000 liters of clean water to dozens of communities through I-004. Our water distribution efforts are continuing under RI-001, a rolling (continuous) water distribution initiative that strives to serve 40,000 Palestinians monthly.
